If you live with an apprentice, it may be possible to claim a Council Tax discount of 25%, and if you are the only adult resident at a property, your discount could be up to 50%.
Find out if you’re eligible
To qualify, the apprentice must be:
- employed for the purpose of learning a trade, business, profession, office, employment or vocation
- undertaking a programme of training leading to a qualification accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority
- employed at a salary or receiving an allowance, or both, which in total amounts to substantially less that the salary the person would be likely to receive once they are qualified and have received no more than £195 gross per week
