Poole Community Infrastructure Levy

Prior to the formation of BCP Council the former Borough of Poole Council approved the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Charging Schedule which took effect from 21 February 2019.

We are consulting on a new BCP CIL draft charging schedule that will replace the 3 CIL charging schedules that cover the BCP Council area. We are consulting from 25 April to 1pm on 6 June 2024.

From 1 January 2021 the RICS CIL Index, published by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, will be used to calculate CIL liability in accordance with Schedule 1 of the CIL (amendment) Regulations 2019. The table below shows how the indexation will affect CIL for developments granted planning permission in the Poole area from 1 January 2024.

In support of CIL charging schedules we used to set out the types of projects that CIL monies and planning obligations would be spend upon, in what were known as the Regulation 123 List. This approach was superseded through the preparation of the Infrastructure Funding Statement, which sets out the CIL and planning obligations and where they are spent. We have reported on the collection and spend since BCP Council formed in 2019, in the Infrastructure Funding Statement (IFS) 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022.

We are in the process of reviewing the Regulation 123 List to set our future spending priorities.
