Local Development Scheme

We are taking a draft LDS through cabinet on 27 July 2022 - see item 11.  This revised project plan will replace the current adopted LDS.

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, as amended by the Localism Act 2011, requires us to prepare and maintain a Local Development Scheme.

The Local Development Scheme is a 3 year rolling project plan for the preparation of planning policy documents. Planning policies determine where we live, work, shop, play, how we travel around our local area and what impact we have on the environment.

We have prepared an Local Development Scheme (2019) that focuses specifically on the key milestones for the BCP Local Plan. As such, it provides the community and other interested parties with an indication of the stages of plan production, highlighting public consultation stages where interested parties can engage with the council.

The Local Development Scheme came into effect on 23 September 2019 and covers the period to Winter 2022.
