Poole Library temporary closure for building work and interim services

Poole Library will be temporarily closed for building works from Monday 1 November for up to 10 months.

Free online resources and membership are available at any time from Libraries West. You can borrow or return books, study, use public computers & Wi-Fi, and attend events at other BCP Council libraries.

The Home Library Service will continue doorstep deliveries.

The temporary closure is for building works for Council Customer Services, and major replacement of the heating, lighting & ventilation systems.


The library has:

  • books, DVDs and audiobooks 
  • free internet access and printing 
  • free wifi 
  • photocopying
  • daily newspapers and magazines 
  • tea and coffee 
  • self-service issue and return kiosks
  • 24/7 drop-box for returns.


  • pavement-level lift by the bus station to second floor entrance
  • escalator to entrance by HMV in the Dolphin Centre
  • ample car parking in the Dolphin Centre car park.
