Our Health and Safety Service is delivered by the Regulatory Services Team.
The team provide guidance and advice to businesses and members of the public and investigate serious complaints and accidents in your workplace.
Health and Safety Enforcement
The Responsibility for enforcing health and safety is split between the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Council.
We are responsible for enforcing health and safety regulations in:
- offices
- shops
- warehouses
- hotels
- restaurants
- bars
- nightclubs
- hairdressers
- tattooists
- beauty salons
- care homes
- nurseries
The HSE deal with businesses such as:
- factories
- building sites
- fairgrounds
- farms
- schools
- railways
