Skin piercing tattoo electrolysis and acupuncture registration

If you offer tattooing, semi-permanent skin colouring (microblading / micropigmentation / tricopigmentation), cosmetic piercing, electrolysis, acupuncture, microneedling or other skin piercing treatments, you must be registered with us as well as the premise where the skin piercing activities are taking place.

We do not currently register aesthetic treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, dermal implants, Brazilian butt lifts, vitamin or mineral injections, laser treatments or tattoo removal.

Exceptions

If you are a registered medical practitioner with the General Medial Council (GMC) or operate under the direct supervision of a registered medical practitioner, then you do not need to register (or, in the case of acupuncture only a dentist).

How to apply

The fee is £133. To apply please complete the online application form.

When we receive your application, an officer from our environmental health team will get in touch to discuss your application and may arrange a visit to the premises where the skin piercing activities are being carried out.

After your application has been processed, a certificate of registration will be issued.
