Book a ceremony

All civil marriages must be attended by 2 registrars in the district where the marriage or civil partnership will take place.

Please note that your provisional booking simply retains a time slot for registrars to attend your ceremony. Your marriage or civil partnership cannot take place until you have served notice. Please see the serving notice page for more information on serving notice of marriage or civil partnership.

If you are having a religious ceremony you must find out if the church has an authorised person to attend the ceremony. If they do not, you will need to book a registrar to attend the ceremony.

How to book

See the options below for how to send us an enquiry. If you know the details of the ceremony you are interested in booking, please include this information and your contact number. We will then be in touch with you as soon as we can.

B-C.ceremonies@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.
