BCP Council will consider a recommendation that a Parish of Throop and Holdenhurst be created. Following the receipt of a petition from local residents for the new parish, an initial period of consultation was held which invited views, comments and suggestions for the area.

A Task & Finish Group, made up of BCP Councillors, considered the feedback from the initial consultation and have made this recommendation which will be presented to BCP Council’s Cabinet next week. If Cabinet agree, a recommendation will be made to Full Council regarding a new Parish of Throop and Holdenhurst.

If BCP Council support the proposal at Full Council in November, a further 12-week consultation will be undertaken, which will invite all interested parties to make their representations on the detail of the proposals.
