Families from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole will find out which secondary school they have been allocated today.

All parents who applied on-line will be able to log on and view the result of their application. Letters will be sent to all families who applied by the closing date of 31 October 2019.

  • 90% of families have been offered a place at one of their preferred schools.

Nationally, the percentage of families securing a place in their first preference school and one of their preferences has dropped compared to previous years due to the rising number of primary pupils transferring to secondary school. The same is true for families in the BCP Council area. Across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole there are sufficient school places for all local children for September 2020.

Councillor Sandra Moore, Cabinet member for Children and Families said:

"The percentage of residents in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole who have been successful in obtaining a place at one of their preferred schools is 90%. Where families have not been offered a place at their preferred school it is recommended that they visit the school they have been offered and take the opportunity to find out what would be available for their child."
