BCP Council has announced a refresh of its popular Live Q&A sessions and will be answering questions on topics that matter most to local people and their communities.

On Wednesday 6 July at 12:30pm, residents are invited to join the Leader of BCP Council, Drew Mellor, online and take part in the first in a series of newly formatted live Q&A sessions. Each session will have a dedicated theme. In addition to real time questions, residents are being offered the ability to submit questions in advance via social media.

The first theme for the newly formatted sessions will be Cleaner, Greener, Safer. This initiative aims to encourage a sense of pride in the place we live and we have already taken some significant steps towards the delivery of enhanced street cleaning, additional CCTV, Community Support Officers and highway repairs. It is a priority BCP Council-led initiative which has seen renewed investment of £3.1 million this year.

The last 20 minutes of each session will remain open to the public, with the Leader of the Council answering questions in real time submitted via the comments section.

Councillor Drew Mellor, Leader of BCP Council comments:

"It’s vitally important that we offer our residents an opportunity to speak out, find out more and ask questions about the issues and topics that matter most. That’s why we’ve been working hard to revitalise our Q&A sessions and deliver them in a more structured and engaging way.

"This will include going into greater depth regarding the subjects that matter most to BCP residents, such as our Cleaner, Greener, Safer initiative. I ask you to please submit your questions via social media ahead of time so we can answer as many as possible during the first part of the session.’’

BCP Council’s Live Q&A sessions will be broadcast across its main social media channels, including Facebook. The sessions will continue regularly, with the newly extended format now running monthly, with hour long sessions replacing the previous 30 minutes sessions.
