The following are resources that can support you to ensure that staff wellbeing lies at the heart of nursery settings.

Looking after your own mental wellbeing

ABandOfBrothers

Abandofbrothers (ABOB) works with young men involved in the criminal justice system. They provide the support needed to make the transition to an adulthood free of crime, and filled with a sense of belonging, connection and purpose.

Action for Happiness

Everyone's path to happiness is different. Based on the latest research, we have identified 10 Keys to Happier Living that consistently tend to make life happier and more fulfilling. Together they spell "GREAT DREAM".

CALM Zone

National Autistic Society

Have a free guide on how to adapt mental health talking therapies for autistic children and adults.

NHS apps

The NHS offer a range of wellbeing apps to support you.

NHS Dorset Healthcare

Offer a range of services providing support at times and places when people need it the most. You can call Connections on 0300 123 5440 24/7 or access the service via NHS 111.

NHS Mental Health Support Team in Schools

Schools play an important role in supporting the wellbeing of children and young people at a time when they are experiencing lots of physical, emotional and social changes.

The introduction of Mental Health Support Teams(MHST) working within schools is a new approach to provide an additional source of support to families and schools.

Samaritans

Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. If you need confidential out of hours support, you can call the free 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 116 123.

SANE

National out of hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support, guidance and information every day from 4:30pm to 10:30pm on 0300 304 7400 (during COVID-19 restrictions please call 07984 967708) or email support@sane.org.uk and they will respond as soon as possible.

Surviving Minds Foundation

Surviving Minds Foundation uses the 25-acre Marl Pits Wood near Dorchester to host a range of activities that will enhance your wellbeing.

They include:

  • Woodland wellbeing
  • Bushcraft skills
  • Coppicing skills
  • Campfire cooking
  • Social gatherings by the campfire
  • Woodland camping
  • Bushcraft and survival training
