Dog waste and other fouling
What we can do
If there is a large amount of fouling reported, or it is in a priority area such as a busy school route or shopping parade, a cleansing crew will be dispatched to clean the area.
If there are large amounts of fouling or evidence of a persistent problem we use a combination of education and enforcement action. For example, we may erect temporary signage, increase patrols in the area, give advice to dog owners or issue offenders with a fixed penalty notice.
Dog owners are required by law to clean up after their dog in public places. That includes roads, pavements, parks, car parks and all shared open spaces.
