Broadstone Heath

A mixture of heath and woodland with footpaths and superb views over Poole.

Broadstone Heath still has the remains of the extensive heathland that used to cover most of the Poole Basin. It’s now around 40 per cent dry and wet heath and 60 per cent mixed woodland.

News and events are available on the Poole's heathlands Facebook page.

Entrance

There are entrances north of Broadstone Recreation Ground and between Charborough Road and Fontmell Road. The nearest postcode is BH18.

Parking

There’s limited parking at the end of Charborough Road. Car parking is also available off the Lower Blandford Road and Dunyeats Road.

Dogs

Dogs must be on a short lead when livestock is near and during the bird breeding season from 1 March to 31 July. At other times dogs must be under close control.

Look out for

Common woodland species, the more common reptiles and occasional sightings of the Dartford warbler in the small area of heath.
