Poole Crematorium

Poole Crematorium will be temporarily closed from 14 March 2022 for 22 weeks.

We are making improvements to our facilities and anticipate re-opening in early September 2022.

Due to the building works you will not be able to access the:

  • ceremonial space
  • offices
  • Books of Remembrance room
  • car parking located next to the building.

The books from the Books of Rememberance room have been temporarily relocated to Bournemouth Crematorium's Books of Rememberance room. They can also be viewed online from home or by using the facilities at your local library.

All enquiries should be sent to or 01202 128 111. If you need to speak to someone in person, please visit Bournemouth Crematorium.

You are welcome to continue to visit the grounds and the Woodland Glades, lawn areas and lower gardens will remain open.

Currently there is only one access point to the grounds which involves an uneven and steep pathway from the Autumn Glade. This access is a longer walking distance to reach the lawn areas and lower gardens. Visitors with mobility challenges should take care when accessing this area.

Due to the restricted access to the grounds, witnessed scatterings bookings are suspended until the site re-opens in early September.  We apologise to families for this disappointment.

Bereavement staff will be present on site for limited periods to oversee care of the facilities.

We are making significant improvements to the:

  • waiting room
  • reception room
  • ceremony room
  • cloisters
  • car park lighting
  • Books of Remembrance room
  • office areas.

The cloisters refurbishment will include a wildlife-inspired mural by a local artist to bring the ‘outside, inside'. The former Books of Remembrance viewing conservatory will become a reflection room, where floral tributes can also be left. We will be introducing a new outside floral wreath court and a covered outside waiting area.
