BCP Council Have Your Say

Residents across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are being asked to share their thoughts and ideas about the future of the area.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council staff will be holding a series of public roadshows in the coming weeks, beginning on August 29th.

The aim is to find out what local people think about how the council can help BCP’s diverse communities thrive and prosper in a healthy and sustainable way.

This will include issues around the future direction of the council, its ambitions, vision and objectives.

Residents are invited to any of the events and will be able to chat to council staff about the consultation, share their stories in person and fill out a paper version of the survey.

Councillors and members of BCP Council’s Cabinet will also be present at each roadshow.

Councillor Andy Martin, BCP Council’s Portfolio Holder for Customer, Communications and Culture said: "Listening to our residents and being open about both the opportunities, but also the significant challenges the council is facing, is at the heart of the new administration’s way of doing things.

"While we’ve made a good start with our own draft vision, it is the input from everyone who lives and works here that will make a real difference.

"I would encourage people to come along and talk to councillors or the council team about the ways they think the council can make sure we all enjoy a vibrant and healthy community for years to come."

All the information provided, either verbally or via the survey, will be captured and used to inform a refreshed corporate strategy which will be presented to BCP Council’s Cabinet in December and to Full Council in January.

The list of roadshows currently confirmed is;

Tuesday 29 August - Sainsburys, Christchurch 3pm - 7pm

Tuesday 5 September - Saxon Square, Christchurch 10am - 3pm

Tuesday 19 September - Falkland Square, Poole Town Centre 10am - 3pm

Friday 22 September - Boscombe High Street 10am – 3pm

Dates and locations for further roadshows are being explored.

Anyone unable to visit a roadshow can complete the online survey and share views on the draft vision, priorities and objectives, suggest changes and highlight anything they feel has been missed at: haveyoursay.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/our-vision

Residents have until 22 October to complete the survey and submit their ideas.
