Families across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole will find out today - Tuesday 15 April - which primary school their child has been offered for September 2019.

All children living in the BCP Council area who applied by the closing date to join Reception have been offered a school place for September 2019.

98% of children in Poole and 97% of children in Bournemouth have been offered one of their preferred primary schools.

The process for allocating primary school places began before BCP Council was formed. Information relating to pupils in Christchurch will be included in the Dorset Council figures.

Neil Goddard, Service Director, Community Learning & Commissioning, BCP Council said:

"Finding out which primary school your child will be starting their education is an important time for families and it is encouraging to see that over 97% have been offered a place at one of their preferred schools. I wish them the best of luck as they start school."

Parents will be contacted by email or post and can also find out the outcome of their application online. Parents making late applications are advised that there are available school places across the area. Christchurch parents will be advised of their child’s primary place by Dorset Council this year, but their future school admissions will be handled by BCP Council.
