Athletes cheering at the camera

Entries for the 2023 Bournemouth Bay Run must be registered by Friday 24 March.

This year’s 40thAnniversary event, organised and operated by BCP Council, will be supporting three extraordinary local charities, Dorset Mind, the Lewis Manning Hospice and the RNLI.

On Sunday 2 Aprilwhy not take in the spectacular seafront views as you run the half-marathon, 10k or 5k or trot alongside your little ones in the super-competitive 1k Kids run!

Runners are being encouraged to wear 1980s outfits to mark the four decade milestone – short shorts, neon colours, Flashdance style leg warmers, fingerless - gloves and headbands!

Councillor Beverley Dunlop, Portfolio Holder for Culture and Vibrant Places at BCP Council said, "Taking part in the annual Bournemouth Bay Run is a fabulous way to spend a spring Sunday morning! There is a race for everyone and those not doing the actual running can cheer on their friends and family, get involved the pre-race warm ups and browse the stalls in the race village!"

The event will once again be supported by Hot Radio providing an inspirational 1980s soundtrack for everyone taking part, DJs for those all-important pre-race warm ups at Pier Approach and plenty of freebies as well!
