Accommodation

This scheme is different from the other 28 schemes in that it provides more support for residents and has extra facilities. There are 35 one bedroom flats within the main building and a separate two bedroom bungalow. All properties have Tunstall equipment installed which enables residents to call staff members in an emergency.

The lounge and dining room have been updated and a new lift has been installed so there is a lift at each end of the scheme, there is an office for the care staff and another for the housing staff and the building has been completely redecorated in a dementia friendly way.

The sensory garden has been designed to improve the outside space and provide stimulating experiences for residents, some of whom suffer from poor mobility, limited sight and other long-term conditions.

In addition to the south garden, which also includes a BBQ area for residents', a 'wildlife walk' zone with elevated views of Poole Harbour, and a courtyard which, with its evergreen pines, rosemary and euphorbias, will evoke smells reminiscent of summer holidays.
