Bourne Valley Park

An area of heathland nature reserve bordered by Bourne stream. 

Bourne Valley Park and the adjoining Bourne Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest cover over 57ha.  

The park’s great for long scenic walks and spotting wildlife in the ponds and streams. 

Location 

Turbary Road, Alderney, Poole, BH12 4JP. 

Parking 

There’s limited parking on roads near the park.

Entrance

You can get to the park from Evering Avenue. 

Access

Some paths are steep in the park and some are unsurfaced. 

Dogs 

Dogs are allowed in the park.

The park’s children's play area has:

  • spider's web climbing frames
  • buddy swing
  • long swing
  • zipwire
  • wheelchair friendly roundabout
  • wheeled play area for scooters, skateboards and roller blades. 

Sport and exercise 

The park is part of the Canford Heath to Bournemouth seafront greenway cycle route.
