Christchurch Harbour Association

Access to the harbour is managed by Christchurch Harbour Association, a voluntary organisation responsible for the buoyage in the Harbour and outside its entrance.

VHF channels

Marine-band VHF radio is used by vessels to communicate with radio stations ashore and other vessels. The VHF channels and call signs for services in the Christchurch area include:

  • Marine Patrol Service - CH8 c/s ‘MIKE PAPPA’
  • NCI - CH65 c/s ‘HENGISTBURY HEAD NCI’
  • Solent Coastguard - CH16/67 c/s ‘SOLENT COASTGUARD’
  • general harbour communications - VHF CH8.
