Help and support for people with no recourse to public funds

Who can help or give support from the Local Authority and under what circumstances?

Local welfare charities and housing providers can refer people with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) to us to assess if we can support the individual or family, as people with eligible care and support needs.

This is assessed by Social Services, who can provide accommodation and subsistence, as social services is not a welfare benefit.

Contact our adult social care contact centre to start this process.

If you have NRPF status and have no care and support needs, you can still be given some support from various agencies and charities.
