The Transforming Cities Fund programme is creating a new network of sustainable transport routes, which provide safer, quicker and environmentally friendly travel alternatives to driving, particularly for short journeys.

We are investing in infrastructure to make walking, cycling and travelling by bus to work, education and leisure more attractive, reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality. Delivering this programme, alongside our Strategic Parking Review and Climate Change Emergency Action Plans, will make significant steps in tackling our transport and environmental issues.

This will improve intra-urban connectivity and travel choice, reduce congestion, reduce road-related injuries and deaths, increase productivity and improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
