We do not tolerate hate crime and you can help us stop it.

If you're not in danger, report it to the Dorset Police on 101 or fill out their online reporting form, deaf people can text 0776 642 5243 or on Dorset Police website.

What is a hate crime

Hate crime is any criminal offence against a person or property motivated by the offender's hatred of someone because of their: 

• race, skin colour, ethnic origin or nationality
• religion
• gender or gender identity
• sexual orientation
• disability
• age.

Hate crime can take many forms, including:

• Physical attacks - such as physical assault, property damage, offensive graffiti, neighbour disputes and arson
• Threats - such as offensive letters, abusive telephone calls, intimidation and hateful complaints
• Verbal abuse, harassment or insults - such as offensive leaflets and posters, abusive gestures, dumping rubbish outside homes or through letterboxes and bullying at school or the workplace.

By reporting these kinds of incidents, even anonymously, you can help us get a better idea our community’s problems.
