Newspapers and magazines

Digital versions of newspapers and magazines are available to our library members via LibrariesWest, and you can download or stream copies to your tablet, smartphone, Kindle, PC or laptop.

Newspapers

You can access the full text of over 1,000 daily, weekly and monthly newspapers from over 100 countries, including 166 local, regional and national UK titles.

Newspapers, and their supplements, are always available online on the day of publication and back issues from the previous 3 months are also available for most titles.

How it works

Digital newspapers are provided by ePress on BorrowBox

Via the app

  • download the BorrowBox app from your app store
  • select BCP Bournemouth or BCP Christchurch and Poole
  • enter your library membership number and PIN
  • agree to the terms and conditions.

To listen to audiobooks using the website:

  • go to BorrowBox
  • select either BCP Bournemouth or BCP Christchurch and Poole
  • click the sign in button in the top right-hand corner
  • enter your library membership number and PIN.

Please contact your local library if you’ve forgotten your PIN.

Magazines

You can choose from around 3,000 different magazines across a wide range of genres, from computers, crafts and current affairs to entertainment, science, nature and sports.

Popular magazines available include Auto Express, BBC Good Food, Gardener's World and Hello!, with new issues often released at the same time as the print edition

Via the app

  • download the Libby app from your app store
  • search for and select Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council
  • select either Bournemouth Libraries or Christchurch/Poole Libraries
  • enter your library membership number and PIN
  • agree to the terms and conditions

Via the website

To read magazines using the website:

  • go to Libby
  • select Sign In With My Card
  • select either Bournemouth Libraries or Christchurch/Poole Libraries
  • enter your library membership number and PIN
