Being a carer

Being a carer isn't about specific qualifications.

All you need are the right qualities such as:

  • a patient nature
  • a friendly face
  • good communication skills
  • and a desire to help people

Once you start your career, you'll often receive on-the-job training and ongoing support to enable you to get the most out of your job, and you'll be making a real difference to the everyday lives of the people you care for.

Being a care worker offers:

  • competitive rates of pay
  • flexible hours, creating an excellent home/work balance
  • ongoing training

You do not need to drive or have your own car, we have walking routes where you can visit on foot near your home, or we can offer the loan of e-cycles. For those that can drive, companies may be able to offer parking permits.
