Vote of no confidence lost at BCP Council

A vote of no confidence motion was held and lost at the Council meeting on 9 June. Accordingly, Cllr Vikki Slade continues to be Leader of the Council.

All 75 serving councillors attended the virtual meeting. The votes cast were 37 for the motion of no confidence and 37 against it, with one abstention. Therefore, in accordance with the constitution, the Chairman Cllr David Flagg used his casting vote to determine the outcome, resulting in the motion being defeated.

The Council meeting was broadcast live online and can be watched back from our YouTube channel here. So far, over 4,000 people have viewed the meeting online.
