Pan-Dorset Safeguarding Children Partners have launched a new website to strengthen safeguarding guidance for local organisations, parents and carers.

The new site will consolidate information from the previous sites of Dorset Safeguarding Children Board and Bournemouth and Poole Local Safeguarding Children Board, providing a single portal for anyone involved in safeguarding across the county.

The website features the latest updates from the Pan-Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership (PDSCP), training opportunities for professionals, resources, Safeguarding Children Practice Reviews, policies and procedures and advice for people on what to do if they think a child is at risk.

Vanessa Read, Director of Quality and Nursing at NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "Following the formation of the PDSCP last autumn we recognised that we needed a central point of consistent, up to date information that could be easily accessed by both professionals working in safeguarding and the wider public, including parents and carers.

"We are really pleased with the new site which will be maintained by the PDSCP team, so we can ensure it has the latest and most relevant information.

"One of the aims of the PDSCP is to help children grow up in a safe environment, so we are encouraging people to visit the site, find out more about our work and most importantly, know what to do if they think a child they know is at risk."

To receive regular updates on the activities of the PDSCP, subscribe to the mailing list via www.pdscp.co.uk.

The PDSCP was launched in August 2019 and is led by:

  • Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council
  • Dorset Council
  • NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Dorset Police

Safeguarding is everyone’s business.
