A 70-bed care home in Boscombe has been purchased by BCP Council to provide more affordable care home bed spaces across the area.

The Fairways care home in Owls Road, Boscombe is now operated by Tricuro who have been commissioned to run the service.

Staff at the home have transferred employment to Tricuro and residents currently in the home will continue to receive care as normal.

Councillor Vikki Slade, Council Leader, BCP Council, said:

"It’s very good news that we have now completed the purchase of Fairways care home providing further beds available to the council to allocate to those residents requiring council funding towards their care costs. This follows the recent completion of our brand-new care home, Figbury Lodge in Poole.

"We have found it increasingly difficult to source suitable accommodation and care at an affordable price for people leaving hospital or who need residential care. By owning our own care homes, we are able to secure a large number of affordable bed places for local people, particularly those with dementia."

Alison Waller, Managing Director of Tricuro said:

"We are pleased to add Fairways to the portfolio of care homes we currently provide across the county. We have ensured the residents, their families and staff have been fully supported throughout this transfer process. We are looking forward to delivering high quality care to local people who are funded by the council or who may wish to purchase their care privately from Tricuro."
