BCP Council is consulting on the Adult Social Care charging policy, and local residents are invited to have their say.
When an adult receives social care, it is often as a result of a disability, and adults can spend their time at day centres, which allow them to meet and socialise with friends, take part in activities and learn new skills. They’re also offered support with personal care, eating and drinking, bathing, and transport, if they need them.
One consistent rate to pay for their care across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is being proposed, which would be based on the actual cost of providing several services, including getting to and using day centres.
Councillor Lesley Dedman, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: "I would urge all local residents to tell us their views. Even if you do not use these services now, a friend or a relative may need to use them in the future and so it’s important you have your say."
The consultation runs until Monday 16 March.
