BCP Council and our Children and Young People’s partners are launching a draft three-year plan aiming to make a difference to the lives of children and young people living in, learning in or visiting the BCP area.

The partnership is asking for feedback on any changes or improvements to the plan. The consultation will run from today (Monday 11 January 2021) until 31 January 2021.

Children and young people are at the heart of the new plan, with programmes informed by their views and experiences. It includes the views of children and young people on what makes them happy, and a set of priorities which have been designed around what local children and young people have told us is important to them.

The plan sets out the strategic approach that the Children and Young People’s Partnership are looking to take in order to make a difference by ensuring Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are child-friendly places, in every local community and in every postcode.

The Children’s and Young People’s Partnership recognises the need to adapt and be flexible as a result of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on young people and will continue to reprioritise immediate work in order to support children and young people affected.

Anthony Douglas CBE, Chair of the BCP Children and Young People’s Partnership Board said:

"Our plan has been designed around the views children and young people have shared with us about their priorities. We want to make their priorities our priorities too. The plan is ambitious for good reason. Ambition has to be very high in order to make a difference. Children and young people in BCP need and deserve this"

"We are now at the stage where we would really welcome feedback on plan from the public, key stakeholders and professionals working in Children’s Services. We want to hear your ideas and perspectives so we can improve our plan based on what you share with us."
