Apply for a secondary or upper school place

You have the right to express a preference for the school you'd prefer your child to attend in September 2024. The main closing date was 31 October 2023.

Late applications cannot be submitted online. You can download our application form to post or email to us

We will let you know your outcome:

  • on 1 March 2024 if you apply on time (before the 31 October 2023)

If you applied online, you can view the result of your application from 10am by logging in to your account on our Parent Portal – and you will also receive an email containing your official offer letter.

  • on 25 March 2024 if you apply late (between 1 November 2023 and 26 January 2024)
  • from April onwards if you apply after 27 January 2024.

You must apply to the local authority where you live, even if the schools you are applying for are in another area.

If you are a resident outside of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole then you should contact your local council for details of how to apply:

If you apply online you can log in to your account and view the result of your application on the notification date.

If you do not provide an email address you will receive your offer letter by post.
