Poole and Christchurch Bays Shoreline Management Plan
The Poole and Christchurch Bays Shoreline Management Plan (2010) sets out the policy for managing the coastline across the BCP Council area in response to the threat of coastal flooding and the risks of erosion. It is a high level non-statutory policy document that aims to balance those risks with natural processes and the consequences of climate change. It divides the coastline into four policy areas as shown on the map in this leaflet:
- hold the line
- managed realignment
- no active intervention
- hold the line/advance the line.
