Government funding

The government has awarded local authorities funding to enable us to:

• introduce temporary changes that help reopen the local economy safely
• help increase the number of journeys completed by walking and cycling, so that everyone can enjoy the benefits to health, air quality and reduction in congestion.

Phase 1

We have been awarded £312,000 to introduce emergency measures that improve the safety and convenience of people who walk or cycle. You can still have your say here.

Phase 2

A further £1.1m will be available to continue with the programme subject to a successful first phase.
