Local Outbreak Management Plan

Our plan to identify and contain any potential outbreaks of COVID-19 and what this might mean for residents, businesses, communities and visitors.

Introduction by Cllr Slade, Leader of BCP Council

Leader of BCP Council and Chair, BCP Health and Wellbeing Board, Cllr Vikki Slade, introduces our Local Outbreak Management Plan.

Working together

Our plan sets out how we will work together to prevent potential outbreaks, and where this is not possible, minimise the spread of COVID-19 infection across the BCP Council area.

Decisions based on data

The need for local, timely and high-quality data and surveillance is a critical factor in helping the COVID-19 Health Protection Board to make informed decisions.

Test and trace

Access to testing is one of the key tools which we need to be able to rapidly and effectively respond to any outbreak of COVID-19 in our area.

Helping communities

We know from the number of local people identified within the ‘shielding’ category as a response to COVID-19 that there are many people and families who need support during this pandemic.

Staying safe

Should we start to see an increase in new cases we will move to quickly tell the public what we know, who is affected, and what we will need people to do to stay safe.

Communication and engagement

Providing up-to-date guidance, information and advice to the general public and stakeholders is a vital element of the plan.
