There is support available if you are having difficulty during the coronavirus pandemic.
Our recovery processes for non-payment have been significantly reduced to allow you to:
- claim any support or grants available
- withhold or reduce payments whilst hardship funds are applied to accounts.

Claiming child benefits
If you are a parent of a new-born you are still able to claim Child Benefit.without having to register your child’s birth first to ensure you do not miss out.
First time parent?
You will need to fill in Child Benefit Claim form CH2 and send it to the Child Benefit Office. If you haven’t registered the birth because of COVID-19 please ensure you add a note with your claim.
Already claiming child benefits?
You can complete the form or add your new-born’s details over the telephone on 0300 200 3100. You will need your National Insurance number or Child Benefit number.
We will continue to pay your Direct Payment into your account as usual every 4 weeks. You should continue to pay your assessed charge unless a different arrangement has been agreed by us.

Post Office help including Cash Delivery Service
If you have a Post Office Card Account (POca) there's helpful information and service updates including the launch of a cash delivery service on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions for those who are shielding.
