Help and support in your community
We know that this is a stressful and worrying time for people. The local community are coming together to help and support those that need it.
Many residents who are self-isolating have family, friends and neighbours already supporting them to get hold of food, medicines and other essentials that they need.
The government/NHS has also been in contact with many people to let them know how to get help.
You can find information on local groups providing support during the coronavirus pandemic, including:
• food and meal delivery services
• pharmacy prescription delivery
• support for people with pets
Christchurch Community Partnership also has a useful list of local support.
If you need help and do not have any family, friends or neighbours who can support you and you are not already in contact with us through the NHS or social services, please let us know.
If you are self-isolating due to coronavirus (COVID-19), we’re here to help with:
• deliveries of food and other essentials
• loneliness and wellbeing.
We will be able to link you up with volunteers or council staff who can deliver essential items. There are volunteers and others, available to talk to you on the phone or through video chat if you are feeling worried and lonely.
You can request this help by calling our helpline on: 0300 1237052 available from 8am to 8pm seven days a week.
