Events, parks, seafront, leisure and attractions

Updated 26/03/2020

Access to Leisure and Learning

Access to leisure and learning is temporarily suspended as we are unable to process new applications or applications to renew memberships.

We are considering options for existing members who can't use their Access to Leisure and Learning (ATL&L) cards during the closure of ATL&L venues and will provide updates as soon as we can.

Museums

Poole Museum, Scaplens Court, Russell-Cotes, Highcliffe Castle, Hengistbury Head Visitor centre and Place Mill will be closed from Thursday 19 March.

Parks, Gardens and Seafront

Open spaces will remain open as long as it is safe to do so. They are available to walk, run or cycle in, simply to allow people to exercise. We’d ask everyone to take all litter home to minimise the pressure on council services.
Seafront carparks are closed.

All playgrounds across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are closed, including the outdoor fitness areas, ball courts, skate parks and tennis courts.

Allotments remain open across the conurbation, we’d ask plot holders to follow advice for their own personal situation, so if over 70 or with a health condition to avoid them. For others we insist on social distancing and ask people to clean hands after touching shared surfaces – e.g. watering points, gates and padlocks.
