Council housing for Bournemouth residents
We are continuing to work hard to provide essential services to all our residents during this difficult period.
Our focus remains on providing:
- emergency repairs
- supporting the elderly and vulnerable
- urgent housing management advice
- help and advice on paying your rent.
Our offices at the Kinson Hub are now closed but you can still contact us by telephone or e-mail, for:
Please note that we will only be carrying out visits and face to face contact where this is absolutely essential.
We have suspended some services for now such as routine communal gardening and cleaning, but we continue to check our buildings and will keep the situation under review.
Only emergency repairs will be carried out in residents’ homes. Before arranging any visit to your home, we will ask if you are self-isolating or if you or anyone living with you has symptoms of coronavirus. During any visit, staff will take steps to ensure that they maintain a 2-metre distance from you or anyone in your home to help prevent the spread of the virus.
We will have a reduced number of staff covering our Independent Senior Living schemes, but we will still be able to respond to residents’ queries and the emergency alarm as well as making regular telephone calls to residents. Communal lounges and kitchens will be closed where it is possible to discourage gatherings.
If you are unable to pay your rent at this time, then you should contact us to see how we can help you, you can do this by:
We will not evict anyone during the coronavirus outbreak, but you will remain liable for any rent arrears that arise.
You can get advice on employment and financial support that might be available to you at GOV UK's worker support page, including asking your employer to apply for you to get up to 80% of your pay if you cannot work.
