Changes to services

Following the latest government coronavirus advice on social distancing and avoiding public gatherings, BCP Council is taking the sensible precaution to protect the public by reducing some non-essential council services.

Adult skills and learning

All sites are closed. All classroom and face-to-face delivery has been temporarily suspended. We are working hard to move much of our learning delivery online.

Our three main Customer Centres in Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole are now closed for general public enquiries and visits.

Funeral Services

Funerals can still take place, but with stricter control measures in order to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

All BCP Council public libraries are closed but you can continue to access e-books, e-audio books & e-magazines, even if you're not currently a library member. The loan period for library items is extended until July


Parking enforcement in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole has been relaxed. Enforcement on serious contraventions will continue, to keep the highway safe for everyone, especially our NHS, emergency services and other key workers.

Registration of births and deaths is by appointment only, No more than two informants can attend to register the birth or death.
