Surge testing for new coronavirus (COVID-19) variants
Enhanced testing (also known as surge testing) is currently taking place in [INSERT AREA] after a case/small number of cases of the xxx COVID-19 variant were detected.
We are asking every person living in [INSERT AREA] over the age of 16 to take a PCR COVID-19 test this week, even if they are not showing symptoms. This will help us to suppress and control the spread of the virus, and enable a better understanding of the variant.
Please use the interactive map below to find out whether you live in one of the affected postcodes:

There are a number of different ways to take part in surge testing, including home testing kits and mobile testing units.
Surge testing is only for people without COVID-19 symptoms. If you have any symptoms, please self-isolate and book a test through GOV.UK.
Living outside the surge testing area
Surge testing is only for those living in [INSERT AREA]
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole residents living in other areas can still access twice-weekly LFD testing as normal but are not being asked to take part in surge testing.
