Street begging and rough sleeping
The vast majority of those who were previously homeless in the BCP area, including those who had been rough sleeping, have accommodation, food and support available to them. This support has included thorough assessments of individual housing need. A minority have unfortunately refused to accept the offer of accommodation and support at this time, but these individuals have and will continue to be reached out to by our services.
Together with local charities and support organisations we are helping homeless people in our towns all year round. Outreach workers from St Mungo’s are in daily contact with people who are sleeping rough, supporting them to find the quickest route away from the streets for good.
If you are concerned about someone rough sleeping please report to Streetlink online or phone 0300 500 0914.
If you wish to help those affected by homelessness to move off the streets for good, as well as preventing this from occurring in the first place, please donate to Street Support's Make Change For Good to ensure that your money goes to the organisations who work closely with those in need.
