Under new national government guidance, from 5 November, whilst you should minimise time spent outside your home, you can exercise or visit outdoor public places such as the beach with the people you live with, your support bubble, or one person from another household.
We have additional guidance on cycling on the seafront, dog walks and public toilets.
Social distancing on beaches
Social distancing is your personal responsibility and everyone should take necessary steps to follow government guidance to protect yourself, your family, and those around you. When around other people ensure that you are two metres apart from anyone not in your household or support bubble. If you feel that the distance between you and other people is too close, then please move to a section of the beach that is quieter and more comfortable. If in doubt, consider coming back at another time when it is quieter.
From 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021, no on-site lifeguard services operate from our beaches.
Our beach cleansing teams operate throughout the year clearing the beach.
Please use the correct bin, take your rubbish home and Leave Only Footprints!
Land trains, cliff lifts and seafront services such as parasol and deckchair rental are currently closed for the winter.
