Healthy cycle rides in Poole
Led by experienced ride leaders, healthy cycle rides are for people who want to improve their fitness and confidence by cycling.
If you do not have a bike, you can join the ride using a Beryl Bike which are available across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.
As the chosen routes are mostly over flat ground or on quiet, traffic-free roads, they’re an easy ride for most people.
At the end of the ride, lasting between 1 hour and 90 minutes, there’s an opportunity for group members to socialise in a nearby cafe.
If you’re planning on joining a healthy ride in Poole, you’ll need to print and complete our health declaration and bring it with you to give to the ride leader.
Times and locations
On the first Tuesday of every month, a ride begins at around 10:15am in Poole Park, next to the cricket pavilion.
On the remaining Tuesdays in the month, rides start at around 10:15am at the bus stop in the main car park at Upton Country Park.
Poole Leisure Cycling Group
The cycling group meets at 2pm on the first Saturday of the month during the summer. Everyone’s welcome and there’s no need to book.
Starting at the tea rooms in Upton Country Park, the route takes riders around the bay, with a refreshment stop at Hamworthy Park. There’s a ride leader and backmarker, so nobody gets left behind.
Occasionally, rides may also take place on the first Saturday of winter months. If you join a summer ride and give your email address to the organisers, they’ll let you know if any winter rides are scheduled.
