Branksome Dene beach

Only a short walk from Branksome Chine, this is a beautiful stretch of coast with soft, golden sands and a dramatic cliff face that towers over the promenade.

There are beach guidelines to follow so that everyone can enjoy our beaches.

Branksome Dene car park has 135 spaces, with 8 disabled bays.

The nearest train stations to Branksome Dene are Branksome(1.2 miles), Parkstone (2 miles) and Bournemouth(2.1 miles).

Cycling

Cycling is allowed, but pedestrians have priority. Keep your speed below 10mph and follow seasonal restrictions in place for July and August on seafront promenades and paths to avoid on-the-spot fines.

Accessibility

You can reach Branksome Dene beach by ramp.

Accessible/disabled public toilets at Branksome Dene Room, adjacent to first floor of tiered car park and disabled parking spaces. For prom level accessible toilets, visit Branksome Chine, 500m west or 650m east to Alum Chine.

Dogs

Branksome Dene can be used all year round for dog walking. Dogs are allowed west up to Branksome Chine beach office or east to Alum Chine beach office in Bournemouth.

From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are not allowed on Blue Flag beaches and must be kept on a lead on the promenade, paths and zig zags at all times. Find other year-round dog friendly beaches and remember to pick up after your dog.

Barbecues

You can have a disposable barbecue between 6pm and 10.30pm, read the barbecue guide before you plan one.

Douse disposable barbecues with water after use and leave them next to the rubbish bins on the promenade for our beach cleansing team to collect once they have cooled down. Please dispose of all other rubbish in the bins provided.

To reduce waste, try one of the electric barbecue hotplates available at various seafront locations.

Open fires

Open fires are not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to light an open fire.

Camping

Camping is not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to camp anywhere along the seafront.
