Branksome Chine

Branksome Chine offers great sandy beaches and stunning views across the coastline. Its Blue Flag status attracts both locals and visitors. It offers a range of facilities, including a beach shop, a car park situated next to the beach and a popular restaurant.

There are beach guidelines to follow so that everyone can enjoy our beaches.

Parking

Branksome Chine car park has 104 spaces, with 3 disabled parking bays. There’s also a pay and display car park in nearby Beach Road.

Public transport

The nearest train stations to the Chine are Branksome (1.5 miles), Parkstone(2 miles) and Bournemouth(2.4 miles).

Cycling

Cycling is allowed, but pedestrians have priority. Keep your speed below 10mph and follow seasonal restrictions in place for July and August on seafront promenades and paths to avoid on-the-spot fines.

Accessibility

The beach can be reached by ramp. A beach-accessible wheelchair is available on a first come, first served basis from Branksome Chine beach office, between May and September, from 9:30am to 4:30pm (refundable £50 cash deposit required).

Branksome Beach also has wheelchair accessible electric barbecue hotplates.

Dogs

From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are not allowed on Branksome Chine’s main beach and must be kept on a lead on the promenade, paths and zig zags at all times.

You can easily access the nearest year-round dog friendly beach area from Branksome Chine beach office east to Branksome Dene Chine up to Alum Chine beach office in Bournemouth. Remember to pick up after your dog.

Barbecues

Electric barbecues are available between Easter and October from 10am to 10pm on a first come, first served basis. For locations check our user guide.

You can have a disposable barbecue between 6pm and 10.30pm, read the barbecue guide before you plan one.

Douse disposable barbecues with water after use and leave them next to the rubbish bins on the promenade for our beach cleansing team to collect once they have cooled down. Please dispose of all other rubbish in the bins provided.

Open fires

Open fires are not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to light an open fire.

Camping

Camping is not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to camp anywhere along the seafront.
