Photo ID you'll need to vote at a polling station
Voters will need to show photo ID to be eligible to vote in person and by proxy in this election.
If you don't have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document (known as a Voter Authority Certificate). Your application for a Voter Authority Certificate must be received by us by 5pm on 21 June 2023.
Polling stations
Some of the usual polling venues have not been made available to us this year, so please take note of your polling station address from your poll card as it may be different.
Your ‘poll card’
From May 2023 poll cards for polling station electors are changing from the traditional A5 size card. In order to list the suitable forms of photo ID acceptable at a polling station, poll cards will now be on A4 sized paper and delivered in an envelope. Providing your name is on the electoral register, you will receive a poll card which tells you where you should vote.
If you already have a postal voting arrangement in place then you will receive the usual A5 poll card which tells you when and where your voting papers will be sent.
