The Charter Mayor of Poole is Councillor Marion Le Poidevin.


About Councillor Marion Le Poidevin

Councillor Marion Le Poidevin was elected as Mayor of Poole on 7 June 2019 having been a councillor since 2011.

After reading German with English at Bristol University, Marion trained as a teacher of primary age children but during her working life has also taught languages at secondary level and in Adult Education. She was also involved in Adult Literacy and on moving to this area she trained to teach English as a foreign language.

For most of her life, she has been involved with the Girl Guide movement. In the late 1990s she was Chair of Poole Agenda 21 looking at ways of living and developing sustainability. Interests include cinema, reading and singing as a member of Bournemouth University Choir.

Mayor's charity support

Councillor Marion Le Poidevin has chosen to support and promote the Poole Food Bank (in partnership with the Faithworks Wessex charity) during her mayoral year.
