Throop and Holdenhurst Community Governance Review
Residents of the Throop and Holdenhurst area in Bournemouth have submitted a petition to request the creation of a new parish of Throop and Holdenhurst (incorporating the existing parish of Holdenhurst).
We are now undertaking a Community Governance Review in response to this request.
What is a Community Governance Review?
A Community Governance Review considers one or more of the following:
- Creating, merging, altering or abolishing parishes
- Naming of parishes and style of new parishes
- Electoral arrangements for parishes (year of election, size, number of councillors, parish warding)
The aim of the review is to consider and bring about:
- better local democracy
- improved community engagement
- efficient, more effective and convenient delivery of local services
- and ensure electors across the area affected will be treated fairly and equitably
Areas to be reviewed
The Community Governance Review includes the following parts of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole district area:
a) the existing parish of Holdenhurst
b) the unparished parts of the Muscliff and Strouden Park district ward.
