We advise local businesses about the laws that relate to them and monitor their trading using information from the Citizens Advice Consumer Service.
 
There are limits to what the law allows us to do. We cannot close businesses down or automatically obtain a refund for you, but in extreme cases we may prosecute or take other legal action.
