Apply for or renew a van permit

Documents needed to apply for a van permit

To apply for your van permit, you will need to upload your V5 form to enable us to verify your application.

If you are borrowing a van from your employer, you will need to upload a copy of a letter of authorisation from your employer.

If your van is leased and is the only vehicle in your household, please upload a copy the lease agreement and proof of residency (in the BCP area) e.g. Council Tax or utility bill.

Vehicles that are not allowed on site

The following vehicles are not allowed on site at all:

  • vans over 3.5 tonnes
  • vans towing trailers
  • single-cab pick-ups towing trailers
  • luton box vans
  • flatbed vans
  • tipper vehicles
  • tractors
  • horse boxes
  • agricultural vehicles
  • hire vans – over 3 days hire

By applying for a van permit you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Van permit scheme and will use a vehicle that is accepted on our sites.

How to apply or renew

Use our online form to apply for or renew your van permit

After you apply

You will receive an email when:

  • your application is complete and submitted to us
  • your van permit is ready for collection from your nominated recycling centre

If approved, your van permit will be ready within 10 working days from the date of your valid application.

When you collect your van permit, you will need to bring proof of your identity and residency such as your driving licence and Council Tax bill.
